Borrando la Frontera
LIVE-STREAMS & Panel discussions

Saturday, April 9, 2016
9 - 12 pm MST  (Ciudad Juárez, Mexicali, and Agua Prieta)
Live-Stream:  Twitter & Periscope:  @Borderarte
Live-Stream event location:  Combine Studios (downtown Phx)

Starting at 9 am on Saturday, April 9, Ana Teresa Fernandez in Ciudad Juárez; Jenea Sanchez in Agua Prieta; Maria Teresa Fernandez in Mexicali; and dozens of community members will erase the border as a symbolic act of resistant against violence and oppression.

Building off the recognition of her successful public art work Borrando la Frontera (2012), located in Tijuana, Mexico, artist Ana Teresa Fernández is expanding the vision of erasing borders to engage multiple communities along the MEX/US border.  Starting in October 2015, she worked with residents and students to erase the border in Nogales, Mexico.    The acts of erasure can be viewed LIVE-STREAM on Twitter and Periscope during the actual painting.  The live-stream will also be shown for public viewing in cities across the world.
