BORDER/ARTE
Ana Tijoux is a Chilean hip-hop artist and musician whose music speaks to political themes of globalization, race, indigenous rights, and women's liberation. Tijoux was born in France in 1977 to parents who were jailed and later fled Chile under the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet.  She returned to Chile in 1980, and is now one of the world's most prolific and recognizable hip hop artists.  The Phoenix concert resulted the feature of Arizona artists in her newest video "Antipatriarca."
