INTIMOS

Teatro Intimo presents political theatre and improvisational performance to inspire dialogue and civic engagement.  We draw our power from the concept of intimacy, intimo, and believe that closeness, connection, and physical/emotional interaction inspire vulnerability and openness.  Intimos tackle issues facing Arizona and our region through performance and audience engagement.  Each Intimo is 30 - 45 mintues followed by political conversation and political organizing.  The Intimos privilege voices of color, queer communities, and undocumented stories, and are performed, written, and directed by community members that reflect those demographics.
Border/Arte believe that theatre and performance help rescript and expand narratives to reflect the riches of Arizona communities.  In changing the narratives and representations we can change the political imagination of the city.
